Capture nx d vs nx studio12/5/2023 ![]() Use largest working color space available in editing program.Use display color profile in Windows color management settings.I'll have to check the Windows color profile settings again, so it will use my display color profile. If my display can't handle (and it probably won't because the sheets only state 100% sRGB) full range of Adobe/ProPhoto RGB, is there a risk with color accuracy when using these larger color spaces? Of course I can/will always check the exported sRGB photo for color accuracy. And when exporting the output should convert color space to sRGB for web use and sRGB only printing service. ![]() OK, so I should try to set the working space to Adobe RGB or ProPhoto RGB no matter what the editing program is. I'm planning to get calibrator at some point. The display is Asus PA248Q ( Info) and it claims to be calibrated to color accuracy. Thank you both for your answers, now things are more clear! This setting - if your in-camera setting is sRGB and that's the colour space you want to output to then leave the default alone ("Recorded setting"). The end result should be a jpeg -file with sRGB color space and the programs are set to convert the color space to sRGB. It looks like NX-D automatically picks up your monitor profile from your system settings, so make sure that profile is actually loaded into your gfx card (check the appropriate box in your Windows colour mngmnt settings). If your output is only web-oriented I suppose you could just leave that setting with its default Nikon sRGB profile. I don't have that program installed on my machine right now but I seem to remember that they don't offer the ProPhoto RGB profile over there, so I'd choose Adobe RGB if you think of printing the file on your own. As I understand this, the Color Matching Profile setting is NX-D's working colour space, so it's best not to limit it to a small space like sRGB. Yes, it reads like a true Silkypix manual. My question is if I should use my monitors color profile or the sRGB IEC61966-2.1 profile in "Color Matching Profile" setting. But I suppose it's better than nothing.Īnd then I checked my Nikon photo editing program settings. But it would really be better to calibrate and profile your particular monitor in your particular place, and not use a canned profile, which is always an abstraction. First I set the included color profile to my display in Windows 7 Color Management I bought a new factory calibrated display and it came with.
